Instructional Focus

Ormsby School community is committed to academic excellence, with an ongoing focus on literacy and numeracy. A focus on problem solving and differentiated instruction drives teaching in all core areas. We are committed to a strong literacy program, Literacy Interventions and the use of technology.

All staff receive additional literacy training and professional development.  Our literacy program engages students in daily guided reading, shared reading, word work, Word Wall activities and meaningful writing. A strong home reading program supports students’ reading growth.

Ormsby School provides students additional learning opportunitites to enhance their school experience. All classes attend field trips as well as each year we bring in artists in residence and special performances for our childtren.
